The history of Gilbert is a small-business success story. We are made up of hundreds of hard-working farmers, contractors, carpenters, consultants and more. Yes, we have valuable corporations and public service employees, but the large majority of Gilbert citizens are employed by small businesses.
In a very real way, small business is our home team!
I believe the fastest way to create new jobs with high wages and grow the tax base is by taking care of the Gilbert small businesses. How? Eliminate red tape; trash prohibitive fees; and prioritize capitalization for our hometown businesses to expand.
Imagine if 100 small businesses of 5 employees grow to just 7 employees. That’s 200 jobs! One of these businesses may outgrow the garage to be the next Hewlett Packard. Let’s get the government out of the way and let our own businesses thrive.
